The Line

Line Between Worlds

Inspired by Thomas W. Schaller
To invest in, build, and tabernacle only in the space occupied by imagination, vision and hope is akin to being so heavenly minded that no earthly good is accomplished. And yet, in that space there is work to be done; work that overflows into the world where feet meet street, and hands hold hands. The line between worlds need not delineate worth, as if one side of the line were better than the other. No. The line between worlds merely illustrates our great capacity as both visionaries and doers, dreamers and movers. Standing on that line and peering into each space takes notice of creation, and the thought and action the created represent.

There is purpose in the time spent in the line between worlds.

Thin Line
Inspired by Steve Mitchell

I drift off into a world that exists only on a thin line, but has capacity for me to wander in forever and never encounter its edge.

Delicate Dominance

The delicate dominance

Of the night sky

Over the land below

~A sweet oppression

These words paint the picture that tells the story, at least to me. I looked out at the night sky and seemed to feel its weight. The enormity of the black expanse offered itself as proof of its incalculable heaviness. The likelihood of miniaturized mountains holding up the massive weight without being crushed into dust and powder is ridiculously small.

And yet that is exactly what I see.

Sitting, resting, gently framing the silhouetted mountain range is this ominous, yet contained, black depth. The night resists the temptation to pass through the earth and leave it pulverized. Though the land cannot push the dark away, the contact they make is delicate and fine.

It is a sweet oppression we witness here as the stars watch and marvel at it all.
