The Call to Live

Do we not see? Are we so blind? Our sorrowful hearts, our weary souls, our cynical minds, our disinterested lives are all evidence of the spirit within us desperately trying to find life.

We are not dead, we are just not living.

When depression leaves us vacant or hollow, or when our emotions seem to have abandoned us and we go through each day feeling nothing but numbness, this is not a betrayal of our hearts upon us. We have not died within our skin sacks.

Instead, we are seeing the very strength of our spirit protecting the life it holds. The greater the dissociation is the stronger the on-going fight that rages in us to shield our precious self from further pain.

We are alive, even when we cannot feel. The darkness has not extinguished the light. – Do not believe the lie that you are no longer there or that you no longer care. It simply isn’t true.

This is the call to live differently.

The well of this world is empty. It may promise fulfillment, but it is unable to give what it does not have. And your soul knows this well to be empty. Your soul tells you that there is more out there, and it is right.

This is when we can, and must, allow ourselves to fall into the arms of our Father. When we are no longer striving, no longer fighting for air, it is the choice we make at this moment that allows life to enter. We have arrived to our present destination, it is good, and there is plenty of air.

Our existence is not dependent on our perception of it.

We are called to be loved. Yes. Our Father wants to love us and desires that we live in that love. He made his love to be like light and water. His love is life. When we feel nothing, or we feel as if there is nothing for us, we are living in darkness... and it doesn't feel like living at all.

"I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint" Jeremiah 31:25.

Fall into his arms today, my friend.
